THE DANIEL INCIDENT. 2:53 PM 」

it is soooo uncanny. to see him and talk about mundane and stupid stuff like we've just met, as if we've never seen each other before. after all we've been through. after all we KNOW. its just weird.

does society disapprove of homosexuality because homos are seen as????? whats the word? or is it simply that society disapproves of homosexuality and similar gender relations because it has not been around long enough? society has become increasingly accepting and comfortable with issues and instances that previously (i speak in a span of the last 60-70 years) were seen as "yuck" and were usually spoken about with a "oh my gosh". when dyed hair first hit the consumer market in say 1997 in large sclaes, the conservatists were like "eeeew" what is that how can someone do that? OH I MUST ADD THAT THE SOCIETY I REFER TO IS SINGAPORE and all the radicals, the rebels, the anti conformiists jumped on the band wagon on the road to multi coloured hair. today, do i need say more? everyone (less sec/pri skool students and ns men) has their hair dyed!! whether to maintain its black lustre or to add a dose of styly to their getup.

want another example of how society has changed to becomming more accepting, lets look at the art f body piercing and tattooing. once upon a time only the BAD PEOPLE and "rejects" of society had these things and they were to be abhored and almost always simultaneously associated to crime. and society deemed these things as "if you want to be a respectable person in society" you didnt have them, simple as that.
and noww......i know of teachers who have multiple piercings and tattoos (albeit of his children's names) i have relatives who have multiple piercings and tattoos too!

but i think the main point here is that society realises that superficialites are mutually exclusive when it comes to a person and what the person really is. inside. and thats what matters eventually. i mean there are these two guys whoese bodies are covered in tattoos, besides their necks and their hands and faces. everything else is art! and they're studying medcine!!! does that mean when they graduate they will be LESSER doctor than the others? obviously not!!!! the eyes of society have opened to the truth. but there will always remain the mocking glances i guess? some people never change. read that slowly, i said some people, not society. society will change, its whether you want to remain disillusioned, or get along with it.

and from way back where i talked about homosexuals, i'm not gonna say much about it, i want you to come up with your own theories. what do you think? what would society say abt this in ten yrs? or twenty? is the pattern repetitive and universally applicable to s'pore? or would they feel like differences keep things ________________ .

another thought for you: DOES SINGAPORE'S CULTURE, AND HENCE SOCIETY, CLOSELY FOLLOW THAT OF AMERICA, OR DOES IT MIRROR THE PATTERNS OF THE MASS MEDIA (WHICH AMERICA HAS A STRONG HOLD ON). OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE?

this is a brilliant production//
