he looked up into the dark sky and the tastelessly still night sky. the air seemed to have a slow cutting edge to it but there seemed no explanation. the music was rythmically pulsating and the whirlwind before his eyes cleared sufficiently to see the vicious arc in which the hand was swinging.the stars fell before his eyes but the pain felt distant.

in retrospect, he finds that the world seems rather humorous when you're flat on your back. (cue: tapered humour).
